Inspiring the Next Generation of Image Makers

The Brief

For this year’s Process, six photographers were tasked with creating a new series of work inspired by Bristol’s music culture, with the brief set by the Abbey Road Photography Awards.

The 8 Weeks

Across 8 weeks, six early-career photographers took part in sessions to develop a piece of work inspired by the brief. They explored live shoot locations, post-production editing, and the process of building a cohesive series.

The Masterclasses

Along the way, they had guidance from experts including Martin Parr, Saskia Kovandzic, James Allen, The Taylor Brothers, and Richard Burbidge (Rolling Stone).

The Exhibition

To culminate the project, we took over ICV Lab—home of the Bristol Photo Festival—for a 24-hour pop-up exhibition, welcoming friends, family, city-goers, and industry experts.

The Installation

We took over the garden of the Martin Parr Foundation to host a 4-week installation showcasing the hero images from each photographer’s work.

PROCESS is an eight-week photography program by Noods Levels, supporting six emerging photographers from South West England. Mentored by a Expert, participants refine their craft, develop artistic identity, and create a series exploring British culture. The program culminates in a Bristol exhibition and poster campaign, supported by Martin Parr Foundation and WeTransfer.
